Atlanta Yoga Conference
Friday October 1st through Sunday October 3rd, 2010
Hosted by Urban Body Studios in Midtown, Atlanta.
Along with many outstanding teachers from around the country, Leigh Anne was asked to teach at this year's conference for the fourth year in a row! Sign up for just a couple of workshops or the entire weekend at www.atlantayogaconference.com. Workshops do fill up quickly, so reserve your spot! Leigh Anne's workshop for the AYC is scheduled for Saturday, October 2 from 6-8 PM.
Here is the description: Myths of the Asanas A thrilling exploration of form, moving through vinyasa, arm balancing and inversions to seek the jewel of wisdom in asana. What is the poison-removing power behind Mayurasana? Why is fish pose dedicated to Lord Vishnu? Who was the sage Koundinya? Why do certain asanas honor Hanuman, while others represent wildlife and nature? Learn the stories of the asanas to align with the inner truth they represent. As you dance with the breath, the secret energy of the soul will shine. This energy helps us to appreciate the goal of yoga, a connection to all things through the space of the inner OM.

Let Your Caged Bird Sing

This dynamic workshop will focus on becoming free of the different ways we create cages for ourselves and others through our thoughts, words and actions. We will focus on heart opening postures and warming vinyasa flow. The practice will conclude with chanting to unlock to unstruck sound of the heart chakra and open the throat, followed by a lovely, restful savasana with aromatherapy.
